He was afraid. He feared his own friends, his coworkers, his family. He feared loosing his reputation, his position, his career. He was a man of position, and of fear and insecurity.

But before we throw any criticism his way… Think of all those who stayed away! The point here is not that Nicodemus was fearful, the point is that he went anyway! He sought Jesus in the only way he could muster. And… Jesus was there for him! Jesus honored the fact that he came, not condemning him for coming at night in fear!

In fact, Jesus proclaims this to Nicodemus that fateful night… “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.”

Are you afraid? Do your fears hold you back from a visit with your Savior, your King? Please understand that He stands waiting for you with open arms. Go to Him in any way you can! He will not reject you! He is waiting to save you. But you must seek Him. You must GO to Him.

What of all the others who stayed home that night? What of those who stay home tonight? If you must seek Jesus in darkness, then go in darkness. Go any way that you can, but go! He promised to honor your step of faith.

Go!
